**Company Overview** The Ontario Restaurant Hotel Motel and Association (ORHMA) a not‐for profit association, formed in 1999 through the amalgamation of Ontario Hotel \& Motel Association and Ontario Restaurant Association both rooted back in the 1920’s. The ORHMA is the largest provincial hospitality association in Canada with over 4,000 operators and 11,000 establishments. The membership consists of independent and corporate entities within the accommodation and foodservice sectors. **Job Purpose** Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant manages daily accounting operations, prepares accurate monthly financial statements, and oversees reconciliations to ensure compliance with company standards and legal regulations. Responsibilities include Membership due invoicing, Daily Membership payment receipt reconciliation, daily journal entries, accounts payable/receivable and supports the Director of Finance. This position provides future growth and development in the organization.   **Duties and Responsibilities** * Prepare, analyze, and report on monthly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements. * Perform, review, and finalize bank reconciliations, and monitor daily revenue and expenses. * Maintain internal controls, monitor accounts payable/receivable, and identify areas to reduce costs. * Become proficient with iMIS membership system and cash reporting and daily journal entry. * Involvement in month end closing entries ensuring accuracy of journal entries with proper support. * Assist in general ledger reconciliations ensuring schedules and support is accurate. * Support other facets within the accounting team during vacation or leave of absence coverage. * Assist in external audits for ORHMA * Liaison with other departments to ensure accounting procedures are followed and to be aware of any financial impacts to the property. * Involved in Month End Closing \- Accounts Payable, Municipal Accommodation Tax/Levy reconciliation. * Ensure internal control systems are being followed. * Attend and participate in regularly scheduled meetings required of the position. * This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time. **Qualifications \& Skills** * Prior accounting experience in a not\-for\-profit membership organization or the hospitality industry is highly preferred. * Proficiency in accounting / membership software (e.g., Quick Books, iMIS and Excel. * Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and organizational skills. * Excellent communication skills for interacting with other employees and ORHMA members and the industry. * Ability to work under pressure during month\-end closing. * Attention to detail and strong organizational skills   **Physical Requirements** * Enter work\-related information using computers and point of sales systems * Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 10 pounds without assistance * Capable of navigating stairs to the second floor * Must be able to sit for long period of time   **Job Type: Full\-time** Pay: $60,000\.00\-$65,000\.00 per year   **Benefits:** * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On\-site parking * Paid time off * Vision care   **Ability to commute/relocate:** * Mississauga, ON L4W 1B2:  reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)   **Education:** * Bachelor's Degree (preferred)   **Experience:** * Hotel or Not\-for\-profit membership accounting: 3 years (required) **Work Location:** In\-person with occasional from home.
