Job Description
**The Opportunity:**
Our client, a publicly listed battery materials company with a growing global footprint, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting into the Director of Finance, this role will support the day\-to\-day financial operations of the business and play a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across the organization.

The successful candidate will bring strong financial reporting capability, a solid understanding of internal controls and compliance, and the ability to work collaboratively across a global business operating in the mining and battery materials space.
Based in Toronto, this role offers the opportunity to join a lean, hands\-on finance team supporting an international operation with meaningful exposure to reporting, treasury, tax, audit, and process improvement initiatives.
**What You’ll Be Doing:**
* Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including the preparation and analysis of assigned areas of the financial statements in accordance with IFRS
* Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
* Support compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and taxation obligations
* Coordinate and assist with external audit activities, including preparing documentation and responding to requests from auditors
* Help maintain and strengthen internal controls to mitigate financial risk and improve reporting processes
* Work closely with external tax advisors to support the accurate and timely filing of tax returns and broader tax compliance requirements
* Assist with treasury\-related activities, including cash flow monitoring, liquidity planning, forecasting, and working capital management
* Support banking relationships, cash management processes, and financial risk mitigation efforts
* Collaborate effectively with global finance teams, operational stakeholders, and cross\-functional partners across the business
* Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior team members where appropriate
* Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts aimed at enhancing reporting quality and driving efficiency across the finance function
* Participate in broader cross\-functional projects and initiatives as needed.
**What You’ll Need To Be Successful:**
* Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
* CPA Designation is required.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in external audit or financial reporting roles in the mining
* industry.
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls and taxation principles.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced experience with Excel.
* Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g. Pronto) is preferred.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in French is advantageous.
* Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non\-financial stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast\-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
**Compensation Range:**
$90,000 \- $105,000 base salary
