Senior Accountant

**About the Role** We're hiring a **Senior Accountant** to join our Ottawa team. This role will be responsible for day\-to\-day finance operations, ensuring clean and accurate financial records, and supporting the CFO in building a robust finance infrastructure. You’ll own key functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, documentation management, and bookkeeping systems cleanup. This is a hands\-on, growth\-oriented role, ideal for someone working toward their CPA designation or who has already completed it. The right person is detail\-obsessed, highly organized, a self\-starter who exhausts all resources before escalating, and thrives in a fast\-paced, scaling environment. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable (AR) * Manage AR * Cross\-reference payments using Excel and other programs for accuracy * Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner regarding remittances, payment confirmations, and related matters * Ensure accurate matching of payments to invoices * Invoice clients on a weekly basis using various portals and programs Accounts Payable (AP) * Categorize expenses through Dext and ensure accurate posting to QBO * Maintain complete documentation for all expenses * Confirm correct coding and classification of all transactions * Ensure AP report is ready for payment on a weekly basis Financial Documentation and Monthly Process * Maintain and verify master documentation for monthly client invoicing and consultant payments * Update timesheet information and ensure documentation for clients and consultants is recorded accordingly * Support month\-end closing procedures, including reconciliations * Maintain QBO with accurate categorizations and attached documentation * Ensure all emails and documents are stored in their respective folders Qualifications * At least 8\-10 **years of experience** in finance or accounting roles * Strong proficiency in **QuickBooks Online, Excel, and cloud\-based programs** * Familiarity with **Dext or similar expense management platforms** * Actively pursuing a **CPA designation** or already certified * Strong attention to detail and documentation * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Takes initiative and ownership of work * Values collaboration, integrity, and continuous learning What We Offer * Flexible working hours * A high\-performance, people\-first culture * Direct mentorship from the CFO * Growth opportunities into senior finance roles * The chance to help shape the finance operations of a growing, global company Challenges and Opportunities This is a unique opportunity to: * Build and improve financial processes during a high\-growth phase * Gain exposure to international operations * Help lay the foundation for a global finance team * Grow into a **Finance Manager or Controller role** in the future
