Senior Accountant

**A Brief Overview** The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Corporate Controller by maintaining the general ledger for operating companies and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This position is responsible for tracking the organization's financial performance, including assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations. A mindset of continuous improvement is essential, as is a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence within the team, department, and organization. **What You Will Do** * Maintain general ledgers for operating companies, including monthly account reconciliations. * Prepare periodic financial reports as directed by the Controller or CFO. * Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and resolve banking inquiries. * Record financial transactions related to construction loans, home closings, and land acquisitions. * Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation and account details for annual audits. * Collaborate with software vendors to maintain and enhance accounting systems. * Uphold confidentiality of all sensitive corporate information. * Promote a professional, team\-oriented, and enthusiastic work environment. * Facilitate effective communication across departments. * Participate in ongoing training to enhance industry knowledge and software proficiency. * Adhere to departmental procedures and company policies. * Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance. Required * Minimum of 3 years in accounting or a related field. Required * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting software systems. **Compensation** We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $77,400 \- $99,000\.
