Our client MCB is looking for a Retail Banking General Manager in Karachi
MCB is seeking a highly experienced General Manager for Retail Banking to lead and manage the commercial business across multiple regions within the Circle. The role requires strategic planning, business development, and operational leadership aimed at achieving sustainable growth and profitability. The General Manager will oversee a substantial team of 1,000 personnel, ensuring that business targets related to assets and liabilities are met while delivering exceptional quality service. Strong adherence to regulatory compliance and internal control policies is essential to maintain the bank’s operational integrity. The ideal candidate holds an MBA from a reputable university and possesses a deep understanding of the regulatory and legal banking environment. With 10 or more years of banking experience, including at least 5 to 6 years in a senior regional leadership role, the candidate must demonstrate proficiency in credit appraisal, financial analysis, and portfolio management. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills are required to manage a large team effectively and to foster lasting client relationships. The General Manager will also be responsible for aligning market and industry trends with the bank’s strategic objectives to drive business forward in a competitive environment.
**Responsibilities**
* Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve commercial business growth and profitability across the designated regions.
* Manage and lead a team of 1,000 personnel, providing clear direction, motivation, and support to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal control policies, safeguarding the bank’s legal and reputational standing.
* Drive customer relationship management initiatives to identify client needs, develop tailored banking solutions, and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Oversee the management of assets and liabilities to maintain a healthy balance sheet and meet business targets consistently.
* Conduct thorough credit appraisals and financial analysis to mitigate risk and optimize portfolio quality.
* Monitor market trends and industry developments to adapt products and services effectively, maintaining competitiveness in the retail banking sector.
* Collaborate with cross\-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, streamline banking processes, and enhance overall service delivery.
* Lead business development activities to expand the bank’s retail banking footprint, including sales strategies and partnership opportunities.
* Maintain effective communication across all levels of the organization to ensure alignment with the bank’s goals and policies.
* Facilitate training and development programs to build the capabilities of the team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and leadership excellence.
* Evaluate and manage performance metrics regularly, making data\-driven decisions to enhance business results and customer experience.
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting of business performance, regulatory compliance, and operational issues to senior management.
