UCSH is looking for a full time **Project Manager, Construction** position. This is an onsite position in our Ottawa office.
**WHAT’S THE JOB ABOUT?**
Reporting to the Director, Project Management, the Project Manager, Construction is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering multiple construction projects from initiation through close‑out. This role requires a highly organized, detail‑oriented professional with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to anticipate challenges, manage competing priorities, and drive successful project outcomes. The Project Manager acts as the central point of communication between clients, internal teams, and subcontractors to ensure all project objectives are met on time and within budget.
Some of the work you will do, but not limited to:
* Lead, manage, and execute assigned construction projects in a timely and efficient manner.
* Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules.
* Ensure all projects progress according to defined scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact project performance or financial outcomes
* Serve as the primary liaison between clients, internal departments, and subcontractors.
* Communicate project updates, changes, and decisions clearly and promptly to all stakeholders.
* Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables.
* Attend or chair project meetings, providing direction, resolving issues, and managing expectations.
* Manage project changes, including scope adjustments, design modifications, and client requests.
* Coordinate with internal teams to evaluate solutions and obtain approvals.
* Monitor project costs, comparing actuals against estimates and identifying variances early.
* Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and change orders.
* Maintain comprehensive document control, including tracking progress, changes, and approvals.
* Oversee submittal processes, ensuring timely submission, review, and communication of updates.
* Conduct site visits (local and out‑of‑town as required) to verify progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Management department.
* Other duties as assigned
**WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU WHO HAS:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
* Familiarity with project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and electrical drawings and specifications.
* Strong computer skills and comfort with project management software and digital tools.
* Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams is an asset.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
**Additional Requirements:**
* The selected candidate must be able to obtain a clear Secret Security Clearance.
