**JOB TITLE: VAT Principal Accountancy Assistant (VAT Officer) – Full\-Time** **Salary: BR13/14 (£44,951\-£52,259\)** This is a great opportunity to be a key part of a highly motivated, strong performing and friendly finance team The post reports to the Senior Accountant (Technical \& Control Team). This is an excellent opportunity within the financial services division for an experienced and highly motivated finance professional. This is an interesting and varied role with responsibility for the preparation and monitoring of the Council’s VAT Returns, partial exemptions as well as VAT reconciliations. Part of a small team, you will also support the Senior Accountant with periodic Accounting returns, reconciliations, and also take an active role in the preparation of the Council’s annual statutory accounts. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills as well as proven experience with all issues relating to VAT, preferably within a local authority. You will have a high level of computer literacy, including financial systems and a good working knowledge of local government finance. CCAB part\-qualified accountants or AAT Accountants are encouraged but not essential. Widespread knowledge and experience of VAT accounting is essential to this role.
