We are looking for an **OpenWRT Specialist / Embedded Linux Engineer** to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring high\-quality delivery from our development team in Sweden, with a strong focus on embedded Linux development. You will collaborate closely with colleagues, contribute to technical implementation, and support test automation. You will also be a strong advocate for quality and security throughout the development lifecycle, driving the implementation of OpenWrt and other embedded Linux systems. **Key****Responsibilities** * Develop and maintain software components for OpenWrt\-based systems * Customize and extend OpenWrt packages to meet product requirements * Implement and integrate MQTT and Modbus protocols for IoT and industrial connectivity * Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to embedded Linux systems **Requirements** * 7\+ years of experience with OpenWrt and embedded Linux development * 7\+ years in C/C\+\+ and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) * Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, VPN, VLAN) * Hands\-on experience with MQTT and Modbus communication protocols * Familiarity with Linux kernel, device drivers, and cross\-compilation * Experience with Git and modern DevOps tools * Ability to work with REST or GraphQL APIs for integration * Familiarity with security hardening for embedded systems * Strong problem\-solving skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English **Nice** **to** **Have** * Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines * Knowledge of wireless technologies (Wi\-Fi, LTE) **Soft Skills** * Strong team player with a collaborative mindset — you value alignment and shared ways of working * Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where processes are evolving * High level of initiative and strong problem\-solving ability — able to take ownership and move tasks forward independently as well as in a team * Excellent verbal and written communication skills — essential for working in a distributed global development environment * Experience in an international company with a Western/European work culture, where transparency, proactivity, and personal responsibility are expected * Proactive and solution\-oriented, with a drive to improve and streamline development practices * Enjoys sharing knowledge and working closely with colleagues to achieve common goals **What** **We Offer** * A key role in a growing, strategically important team * An international and innovative work environment * Competitive salary and benefits package * Opportunities for personal and professional development * Company culture that values precision, ownership, and collaboration **Ready** **to****shape** **the** **future** **of** **embedded** **Linux** **solutions** **at Munters?** Don’t wait—submit your application today, and you might soon be joining our team!
