Operating across 50\+ countries, we bring together strategy, design, and delivery to create spaces that enable businesses to perform at their best. **The Role** As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a **Legal Counsel** to join our legal team in New York. This is a commercially focused, in\-house role where you will act as a key legal partner to the business, supporting project delivery teams and advising on complex contractual and risk\-related matters. You will play a critical role in negotiating and structuring project agreements, managing legal risk, and enabling the successful delivery of construction and design \& build projects across the U.S. This position offers strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence decision\-making in a fast\-paced, project\-driven environment. **Key Responsibilities** * Draft, review, and negotiate a range of **project contracts** , including design \& build, construction, and consultancy agreements * Provide legal advice on contract strategy, risk allocation, and commercial terms across projects * Partner closely with project delivery and commercial teams to support project execution * Advise on dispute avoidance and resolution, including claims and contractual matters * Support the business across construction, real estate, and broader commercial legal matters * Develop and improve contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes * Proactively identify and manage legal and commercial risk across the project lifecycle **Requirements** * Qualified Attorney with admission to the **New York Bar** (or eligibility) * Experience in **construction, design \& build, real estate, or complex commercial contracts** * Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience, particularly within project\-based environments * Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions\-focused approach * Ability to work closely with non\-legal stakeholders in a fast\-paced, delivery\-focused business **Why Join Unispace** * Opportunity to work with a globally recognised workplace design and construction business * Exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision\-making * Be embedded within live projects, adding real commercial value * Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and fast\-paced culture * Hybrid working environment * Competitive salary and benefits
