Today, we have expanded our footprint to more than 90 countries. **About the Role** Temu is seeking a highly skilled, privacy\-focused Legal Counsel to join our US legal team. In this role, you will help oversee and refine our data governance framework, ensuring that our platform operates at the highest standards of data security and privacy. You will focus on building and maintaining sophisticated compliance programs that align with complex US regulatory requirements, safeguarding customer trust while supporting our US operations and global expansion. **Responsibilities** * Strategic Compliance Frameworks: Lead the refinement and management of US data security and privacy programs, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulatory expectations. * Risk Mitigation \& Audits: Oversee internal and external compliance assessments; work closely with cross\-functional teams to proactively identify, track, and remediate data security risks. * Data Governance: Refine and maintain robust policies regarding data access, retention, and cross\-border transfers, ensuring technical workflows meet stringent legal requirements. * Internal Advisory: Partner with cross\-functional teams (e.g., technical, product, and operational teams) to integrate high privacy standards into the development of all US\-based products and services. * Third\-Party Oversight: Manage legal risks associated with vendors and partners, ensuring that data\-sharing ecosystems adhere to the company's rigorous security standards. **Qualifications** * Education \& Bar: J.D. degree from an law school and active membership in a US state bar. * Experience: 4\+ years of legal experience, specializing in privacy and data security. A background that includes both a law firm and an in\-house role in a highly regulated tech or consumer\-facing environment is ideal. * Regulatory Acumen: Significant experience navigating complex federal or state regulatory environments or implementing compliance programs . * Technical Proficiency: Ability to translate complex legal requirements into actionable guidance for technical teams; familiarity with industry\-standard security frameworks. * Execution Excellence: Exceptional project management skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities. **Compensation \& Benefits** The total salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $400,000 annually, and the salary will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, competencies and location, ensuring a competitive and attractive offer.
