Role Description
We require tutors with English language teaching backgrounds to deliver our short courses between June and September 2026\.
**Department**
The Global Opportunities team is part of the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility team in the Global Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions Directorate. It manages the University’s portfolio of international student mobility partners and programmes, including closed short courses for students and staff from partner institutions worldwide, and open summer schools for international students. These programmes aim to build and strengthen international partnerships with key University partners across the globe, support University strategy, and provide participants with valuable opportunities for academic, cultural, and professional development.
**Role**
You will teach on short courses for closed groups and, where required, on open summer school programmes. Course content may include English language and skills development, culture, academic skills, intercultural training, employability skills and business English. Our cohorts of students come from a range of nationalities and backgrounds, with levels ranging from B1 to C2 (CEFR). Your responsibilities will include teaching classes, leading seminars and conducting tutorials, some of which will integrate language with content\-based learning.
**Skills, Experience \& Qualifications**
You will hold a relevant ELT qualification (minimum Cambridge ESOL CELTA, Trinity Certificate TESOL). You will be an experienced English language teacher who has worked for educational organisations in the UK and internationally. You will be able to develop your own teaching materials, adapt existing materials appropriately, and teach across a range of areas, including ELT, EAP and 21st\-century skills. The role also requires the ability to plan teaching, assess student learning, provide constructive feedback to students, and evaluate your teaching practice. You should have a high level of literacy skills and be a proficient user of office IT software packages, especially the Google Workspace.
**Further Information**
Contracts of various lengths available from the beginning of June to the middle of September 2026\.
Tutor induction: There will be a paid induction at the start of the programme.
Accommodation: An accommodation allowance of £1385\.71 per month will be paid for tutors whose UK address is more than 30 miles from the University for the duration of the programme and who will work on campus.
Interview date: This is a rolling recruitment. Interviews will be held online via Zoom with the date to be confirmed. In order to qualify for a position, you must be able to work and be based in the UK.
