**Position Overview**
The HR Manager will play a critical role in setting up and managing HR operations for GSM’s European market launch. This role focuses on building compliant HR frameworks, implementing policies aligned with local labor laws, and ensuring smooth day\-to\-day HR operations in a fast\-paced, startup environment.
The ideal candidate is hands\-on, detail\-oriented, and comfortable building HR structures from the ground up while supporting rapid business growth.
**Key Responsibilities**
*HR Operations \& Setup*
Establish and manage core HR operations including contracts, onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits, and employee records
Set up HR processes, systems, and documentation for new market entry
Ensure smooth day\-to\-day HR operations for local teams
*Labor Law \& Compliance*
Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements
Develop and localize HR policies, employee handbooks, and internal guidelines
Work closely with Legal and external advisors on employment\-related matters
*Policy Development \& Governance*
Build and implement HR policies aligned with company standards and local regulations
Ensure consistent application of policies across teams
Support internal audits and compliance checks
*Employee Relations \& Support*
Act as the first point of contact for employee\-related matters
Support managers in handling employee relations, performance issues, and disciplinary processes
Foster a positive and compliant workplace environment
*Cross\-functional Coordination*
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to support market setup and ongoing operations
Coordinate with HQ to align global HR practices with local implementation
**Requirements**
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields
* 6–10 years of experience in HR operations, HR generalist, or HRBP roles
* Strong knowledge of European labor laws and HR compliance (Nordics experience is a plus)
* Experience in setting up HR processes in new markets or fast\-growing companies
* Hands\-on, detail\-oriented, and execution\-focused mindset
* Strong problem\-solving and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable working in a startup or high\-growth environment
* Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus
