Beacon’s entrepreneurial spirit, learning mindset, and passion to attract and retain a best\-in\-class team has resulted in sustained growth of one of the largest privately held portfolios across the Southeast. **ABOUT THE ROLE** Beacon Partners is seeking a **Human Resources Manager** to join our growing team. The position will be based in our Charlotte, NC office. This is our first dedicated HR hire, offering a unique opportunity to build and shape the HR function from the ground up. The HR Manager will own day\-to\-day HR operations while partnering with leadership to implement scalable, best\-in\-class systems that support growth, strengthen culture, maximize our community impact, and ensure compliance. Beacon currently employs approximately 50 team members and expects to grow to approximately 60 over the next 24 months. The Human Resources Manager will report to the COO and will have support from the Office Administrator for coordination, documentation, and HR\-related processes and the Director, Finance for payroll related items. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **HR Function Build\-Out \& Process Development** * Establish and formalize the company’s HR function, policies, and procedures. * Develop scalable HR processes aligned with the company’s growth and development pipeline. * Evaluate and implement HR technology systems (applicant tracking, onboarding, performance management tools, etc.). * Standardize recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and termination workflows. * Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on workforce planning and organizational structure. **Talent Acquisition \& Onboarding** * Lead full\-cycle recruiting, including job descriptions, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection in partnership with department leaders including the summer Interns. * Create and maintain department\-specific recruiting and candidate assessment criteria. * Design and maintain structured onboarding programs and new\-hire orientation. **Employee Relations, Culture \& Performance Management** * Serve as a trusted advisor to managers across departments. * Support a collaborative, team\-based environment where employees are respected and appreciated, values are consistently upheld, and communication is open and healthy. * Drive a performance driven culture working with the departments to ensure that the team understands how their performance contributes to the overall success of the business. * Participate in leadership roles in community/charitable organizations and industry organizations, as aligned with Beacon’s community impact goals. * Design and manage the annual performance review, goal setting, and bonus process. * Develop the framework, tools, and processes used for setting goals, monitoring performance, and conducting evaluations; train leaders to provide effective feedback and conduct fair evaluations. * Provide coaching on employee relations, performance management, and employee development. * Serve as the strategic partner in the termination process, focusing on legal compliance, risk mitigation, and procedural consistency, while managers handle the actual decision\-making. In addition, verify documentation, ensure fair treatment, manage legal risks, handle termination paperwork, and often coach managers on how to conduct the meeting with dignity and compliance. **Compensation, Benefits \& Payroll Support** * Administer employee benefits programs and manage broker/vendor relationships (health, dental/vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), etc.). * Support payroll processes and bonus administration in partnership with Accounting. * Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive compensation structures and title adjustments to ensure Beacon attracts and retains top talent. **HR Operations \& Compliance** * Ensure compliance with North Carolina and federal employment laws and best practices. * Maintain accurate employee files and records. * Coordinate disability, workers’ compensation claims, and safety documentation. * Develop and maintain the employee handbook and related policies. * Track and manage NC Real Estate Broker licenses and required continuing education for applicable employees. **Training, Development \& Internship Program.** * Design and execute onboarding\-related training to integrate new hires successfully. * Lead professional development by aligning employee growth with organizational goals through tailored training, performance management, and career planning. * Identify skill gaps; support development plans, mentorship, and a culture of continuous learning. * Assist with succession planning and workforce development efforts as needed. * Partner with the leadership team to enhance the company’s summer internship program, including overseeing on campus recruiting, orientation, etc. **WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR** * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. * 4–7\+ years of progressive HR experience; commercial real estate and/or a startup/“build\-from\-scratch” environment preferred. * Broad knowledge of HR functions (recruiting, benefits, employee relations, compliance). * Experience implementing HR technology platforms strongly preferred. * Demonstrated success building or improving HR processes and systems. * Self\-starter with strong accountability, leadership, and a team\-first mindset. * Critical thinker with sound judgment, and the ability to appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information. * Highly organized with strong attention to detail. * Excellent problem\-solving skills and ability to make smart, timely decisions. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior leadership. * Working knowledge of North Carolina employment laws. **COMPENSATION / BENEFITS** * Competitive salary \+ bonus * Full benefits package
