🔷 **General Counsel – Infrastructure Investment Platform (Middle East)** We are currently supporting a major infrastructure investment platform in the Middle East in the search for a **General Counsel** to join its senior leadership team. The organisation develops, invests in, and manages large\-scale infrastructure concessions and PPP projects across multiple markets and is backed by significant institutional capital. This role will take ownership of the **legal and contractual framework across a complex, active infrastructure portfolio** , covering concession agreements, EPC contracts, O\&M structures, project financing arrangements, and multi\-jurisdictional corporate entities. At any given time, the legal function oversees **200\+ live contracts across the platform** , requiring strong oversight, prioritisation, and commercial judgement. 🔹 Role Focus This is not a traditional legal oversight position. We are seeking a **highly commercial, transaction\-oriented General Counsel** who operates as a core part of the investment and delivery engine — not a downstream reviewer of documents. The successful individual will: * Act as a **strategic partner to investment, development, and project delivery teams** * Lead and shape **PPP / concession transactions through to financial close** * Drive the **structuring and negotiation of complex contractual frameworks** across EPC, O\&M, and financing * Translate legal positions into **clear commercial outcomes, risk allocation strategies, and bankability considerations** * Operate comfortably in **live deal environments** , managing competing timelines and stakeholders Critically, this role requires someone who understands that **contractual decisions directly impact project economics, returns, and long\-term asset performance** — and can actively shape those outcomes. 🔹 Ideal Background We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across: * Infrastructure investment platforms or developers (principal\-side strongly preferred) * PPP / concession structures (BOT, DBFOM, etc.) * Project finance transactions (debt/equity structuring, lender interface) * EPC and major infrastructure contracting * Multi\-jurisdictional corporate and asset structures 🔹 Key Requirement (Critical) We are **not looking for a purely advisory or corporate legal profile** . We require a **hands\-on infrastructure General Counsel** who has: * Direct, repeat experience **leading PPP / concession transactions to financial close** * A deep understanding of how **risk allocation, contract structuring, and negotiation positions influence financial models, funding structures, and investor returns** * The ability to move seamlessly between **legal detail and commercial strategy** * A track record of operating in **lean, high\-performance teams where legal is embedded in execution, not separate from it** In essence, this is a role for a **deal\-driven infrastructure lawyer** who thinks like an investor and executes like a project sponsor.
