Job Description
**Overview**
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Lead Teacher who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young children and their families. In this role, you will play a vital part in nurturing and educating young children in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children, as well as being comfortable in a leadership role. Your primary focus will be to create a positive learning atmosphere that fosters growth, creativity, and development, as guiding and supporting the other teachers.
**What You Will Do**
* Oversee the classroom and staff
* Ensure room is in compliance with Licensing standards as well as Braefoot Policies and Procedures
* Responsible for maintaining inventory and ensuring materials are in place for all activities.
* Creating lesson plans with co workers that align with our nature\-based program, and promote learning and development.
* Report to the Manager of the centre
* Educate children in various subjects, including language, math, science, and social skills.
* Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and curiosity, where children feel valued, and are viewed as capable beings.
* Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents or guardians as needed.
* Maintain classroom organization and cleanliness to ensure a conducive learning environment.
* Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the overall educational goals of the program.
* Provide caregiving support by attending to children's basic needs, including meals, hygiene, and emotional support.
* Collaborate with other location leads to determine program developmental goals
**Skills**
* Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, as well as The Early Learning Framework
* Knowledge of BC Childcare Licensing Regulations
* Experience working with children in a classroom or caregiving setting.
* Experience leading a team of 2 or more
* Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for nurturing children's growth.
* Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team\-oriented environment.
* Support observation, reflection, and **pedagogical documentation**
**The Ideal Candidate**
* Passion for **nature\-based and play\-based early learning**
* Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship skills
* Several years of experience working in early learning environments
* Valid **Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification**
