**Position Summary:**

As an educator, you will help create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children aged 0–5 and those in Out\-of\-School Care (OSC). You will be responsible for planning and delivering our specialized curriculum—The Ivy Method—to support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. As part of our commitment to continuous professional growth, you will also receive training to ensure you are confident and well\-prepared to meet the needs of the curriculum.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Take a leadership role in designing, implementing, and evaluating a responsive, child\-led curriculum rooted in FLIGHT and enriched with Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies.
* Provide mentorship and pedagogical guidance to Level 1 and 2 educators, supporting reflective practice, professional growth, and high\-quality program delivery.
* Take a lead in meaningful observation, documentation, and interpretation of children's learning, ensuring alignment with emergent curriculum practices.
* Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with families, and collaborate to create culturally relevant learning experiences. Act as a liaison with community resources when needed.
* Ensure the learning environment supports diverse learners, promotes equity, and reflects a deep respect for the image of the child.
* Collaborate with leadership to assess and improve program quality, participate in goal setting, and contribute to program policies and continuous improvement plans.
* Uphold the highest standards of ethical practice, leadership, and accountability while inspiring a team culture of trust, growth, and innovation.
* Act as a voice for the value of early childhood education, advocating for the recognition of ECEs as educators and leaders in children’s foundational development.
* Stay current with educational theory, research, and best practices, integrating new knowledge into team discussions and daily programming.
**Qualifications:**
* Valid Alberta Child Care Certification: Level 3\.
* Minimum of 1 to 3 years of progressive experience in the childcare field.
* Valid First Aid Certification (or willing to attain one).
* Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months or willing to attain one).
* Up\-to\-date immunizations (as required by Alberta Health Services).
* Strong understanding of child development and inclusive practices.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to fostering a respectful, professional, and collaborative workplace culture.
**Assets:**
* Familiarity with multiple curricula.
* Bilingualism or additional languages are an asset.
