**Director of Sales** Etobicoke, ON (Hybrid \- 3 days/ on\-site) Food Manufacturing / Consumer Packaged Goods **The Company:** Our client is a Canadian owned, national food manufacturer supplying Canadian families with quality food products across the nation. With three strong National Brands, and more growth prospects in their future, they are seeking a dynamic sales customer and people leader who can continue to foster and win new business with National Customers, as well as guide and mentor a growing sales team. **The Opportunity:** This role is best suited for a ‘builder’, and strong relationship people leader, who enjoys working cross functionally, developing teams, and managing high volume sales across a growing national customer desk. The Director of Sales will oversee the customer sales team that also works in partnership with a National Broker / Distributor; this role will plan, communicate, and execute all elements of customer activity and in store presence. Lead the development and execution of strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth, market share, and profitability across key retail customers. This role requires deep expertise in account management, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of building high\-performing sales teams and customer relationships. **Job Duties \& Responsibilities:** **Sales Strategy \& Execution** * Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue and market share across customer landscape. * Own the relationship with Broker / Distributor to execute agreed upon plans \& activities * Lead annual sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes. **Customer \& Channel Management** * Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional retailers, including those owned directly by the Customer Development Team and those managed by the Broker / Distributor. * Lead joint business planning, trade negotiations in collaboration with Broker / Distributor where required), and promotional strategy implementation. * Ensure execution of customer\-specific programs that align with brand and commercial objectives. **Team Leadership** * Manage and mentor a team of Customer Development Managers to deliver strong results. * Foster a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement. **Cross\-Functional Collaboration** * Partner with Marketing, Field Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment on innovation launches, pricing strategies, and demand planning. * Collaborate with Revenue Growth Management to optimize trade spend and promotional ROI. **Analytics \& Reporting** * Monitor sales performance, category trends, and competitive activity using syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI). * Oversees customer programs and monitors investment with finance, SLM account manager and Broker / Distributor. * Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions. **Ideal Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred). * 10\+ years of progressive sales experience in the food \& beverage CPG industry. * Proven success in managing national accounts and leading sales teams. * Strong understanding of Retail and Foodservice dynamics. * Experience with trade promotion management tools and syndicated data platforms. * Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. * Willingness to travel as needed (10\-15%) **Key Competencies:** * **Flexibility** , **Agility, Adaptability** : Thrives in dynamic environments by embracing continuous change.
