Together, we Make the Place. **THE TEAM** The Engineering team plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless, safe, and sustainable operation of the hotel. Working closely with senior leadership and in partnership with all operational departments, the team is responsible for maintaining the integrity, performance, and longevity of the property’s physical assets. The **Director of Engineering** reports directly to the **Hotel Manager** and leads a multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. **YOUR ROLE** As **Director of Engineering** , you are the steward of the hotel’s physical environment, ensuring that every space functions flawlessly while upholding the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and guest comfort. Your leadership directly enables exceptional guest experiences, protects the property as a long‑term asset, and supports Rosewood Hotel Group’s commitment to responsible, efficient operations. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, operations heads, external consultants, and regulatory authorities, playing a strategic role in capital planning, energy management, compliance, and talent development. **HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE** * Lead all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and uninterrupted hotel functionality * Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs covering guestrooms, public areas, kitchens, and all mechanical and electrical systems * Drive financial discipline through effective budgeting, cost control, and long‑term capital planning * Champion energy management and sustainability initiatives that reduce consumption while preserving guest comfort * Ensure full compliance with OSHAD, fire, safety, and statutory regulations, maintaining flawless audit readiness * Lead, develop, and inspire a high‑performing Engineering team through training, performance management, and succession planning * Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring technical excellence, contract compliance, and value for money * Anticipate and respond to guest and operational needs with professionalism, urgency, and care **COULD THIS BE YOU?** * You bring **10\+ years of hotel engineering experience** , including at least **5 years in a senior leadership role** * You have strong technical expertise across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, fire \& life safety systems * You are confident in **budgeting, CAPEX planning, and cost control** , with a commercial mindset * You have a proven track record in **energy management, sustainability, and operational efficiency** * You lead with clarity and calm, building capable teams through training, coaching, and accountability * You are fluent in **English** , with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders * You are highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of making sound decisions in high‑pressure environments **OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU** At Rosewood Hotel Group, your voice is heard – and valued.
