DevOps Engineer

We are Systematix and we are currently looking for an **Intermediate DevOps Engineer** for our client, a Canadian\-owned industrial company. ***This role is Hybrid, 1\-2 days per week onsite in Concord, GTA.*** **ABOUT THE PROJECT:** Our client is seeking an Intermediate DevOps Engineer to support and enhance the infrastructure and platforms used by their Solutions Development team. This role exists to reduce operational burden on developers by taking ownership of development environments, infrastructure, and platform reliability. Working across on\-prem, virtualized, and cloud\-based systems, the DevOps Engineer will ensure environments are secure, stable, and optimized, while contributing to ongoing modernization and automation initiatives. This is a hands\-on role within a strong, collaborative team focused on enabling efficient and high\-quality software delivery. **ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:** In this role, you will design, maintain, and improve development infrastructure while ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable environments that support the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with developers, security teams, and infrastructure partners to reduce operational friction and enable efficient delivery. **REQUIREMENTS:** **Must\-have:** • 3–5\+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, and DevOps\-related roles • Strong experience managing Windows and/or Linux servers in virtualized and/or cloud environments • Hands\-on experience with hypervisors and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper\-V, or equivalent) • Experience supporting development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and services (Azure, AWS, or equivalent) • Experience with configuration management, automation, and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, etc.) • Experience managing SaaS platforms, integrations, APIs, and licensing models • Strong understanding of patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms • Experience working in ticketing and change management systems • Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, platform, and application dependencies • Excellent collaboration and communication skills when working with developers and technical teams • Ability to balance stability, security, and speed in a fast\-paced development environment **Nice\-to\-have:** • Experience with disaster recovery (DR), system migrations, or infrastructure modernization initiatives • Relevant certifications (Azure, AWS, DevOps, Linux, VMware, etc.) • Exposure to environments supporting analytics, automation, or AI\-driven development capabilities **ABOUT THE ROLE:** Location: Concord, Ontario (Hybrid) \= 2 days per week onsite Duration: 6 months plus possible extensions or FTE / Start date: ASAP Additional requirements: Occasional after\-hours work may be required to support maintenance windows, deployments, or incident response **PAY DISCLOSURE:** The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows: • Junior: 0–5 years of experience — $40–$50/hr • Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience — $50–$65/hr Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions. **AI DISCLOSURE:** We may use artificial intelligence (AI) or other automated tools to support parts of our recruitment process.
