URCF's mission is to empower researchers with advanced computing infrastructure, enabling groundbreaking discoveries and fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and government entities. **About The Role** The University Research Computing Facility (URCF) at Drexel University is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team remotely. This role is instrumental in building, maintaining, and optimizing a new shared computing platform designed for GPU\-accelerated workloads, including AI model training. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with the Research Computing Specialist and Drexel IT teams to develop automation solutions, enhance infrastructure, and ensure the seamless operation of high\-performance computing resources. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in infrastructure management, scripting, and container orchestration, with a passion for developing innovative solutions in a research\-focused environment. **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience * 1\-3 years of professional experience in DevOps, systems administration, or related roles * Experience with Linux systems administration and configuration management tools * Proficiency with terminal\-based tools such as Git, SSH, and text editors * Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash * Strong written communication skills * Ability to work independently in a remote environment **Responsibilities** * Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuring, and managing the compute and storage infrastructure, utilizing Ansible, Warewulf, Kubernetes manifests, and shell scripting * Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Kubernetes platform, including networking, storage integration, security policies, and workload orchestration * Assist in building and expanding storage infrastructure, including iRODS, Globus, and related data transfer systems, ensuring seamless integration with compute resources * Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the entire stack, from bare\-metal hardware to container orchestration and application layers * Create and maintain comprehensive operational and user\-facing documentation * Coordinate with Drexel’s IT teams on shared infrastructure concerns, such as networking, DNS, and firewall configurations * Participate in the development of web applications for project management, permissions, and usage tracking to enhance user experience and system usability **Benefits** * Competitive salary aligned with the N grade classification, ranging from $90,430 to $135,640 annually * Fully remote work environment, offering flexibility and work\-life balance * Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans * Retirement plans and savings options * Professional development opportunities and support for continuous learning * Access to cutting\-edge research infrastructure and collaborative environment Equal Opportunity Drexel University is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
