Deputy General Manager - Security Operations

**Responsibilities** **Security Strategy \& Governance** * Develop and execute security strategies for coal transportation, aligned with organizational objectives and risk assessments. * Establish and maintain SOPs for all aspects of coal logistics security, including loading, transit, and unloading points. * Lead strategic initiatives to enhance security infrastructure and operational excellence across transportation routes. **Operational Oversight** * Oversee deployment and performance of security personnel at critical points: loading sites, transit routes, and unloading destinations. * Supervise Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and ensure dynamic deployment based on real\-time risk and intelligence inputs. * Implement cluster\-based surveillance and monitoring frameworks for high\-risk corridors. **Risk Management \& Intelligence** * Conduct regular risk assessments of transportation routes, identifying vulnerabilities and updating risk profiles. * Gather actionable intelligence from internal and external sources to proactively address emerging threats. * Maintain close liaison with local police, administrative authorities, and logistics partners for coordinated security efforts. **Incident \& Crisis Management** * Lead incident response for security breaches, route deviations, accidents, or emergencies along coal routes. * Ensure rapid mobilization of QRTs and effective coordination with emergency services. * Document incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. **Compliance \& Audit** * Ensure adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and company\-specific security requirements. * Facilitate internal and third\-party audits of security operations; address findings and drive continuous improvement. **People \& Stakeholder Management** * Lead, mentor, and develop the security team, fostering a culture of vigilance, accountability, and operational excellence. * Engage with vendors, transporters, and technology partners to ensure seamless integration of security solutions. * Conduct training and awareness programs for security staff and logistics personnel. **Key Interactions** **Internal:** Security Operations Head, Logistics, Site Teams, HR, Compliance. **External:** Law enforcement agencies, local administration, security vendors, transporters, technology partners. KRAs \& KPIs  Reduction in incidents of pilferage, unauthorized access, and route deviations.  Response time to security incidents and emergencies.  Compliance with SOPs and audit requirements.  Effectiveness of intelligence gathering and risk mitigation measures.  Stakeholder satisfaction (internal and external). **Qualifications** **Educational Qualifications \& Experience** * Bachelor’s degree in security management, Business Administration, or a related field * Postgraduate qualifications or certifications (CPP, PSP, TAPA, PMP) are desirable * Minimum 10 \- 12 years of experience in security operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing logistics or transportation security across multiple * Proven expertise in risk assessment, crisis management, and stakeholder coordination in high\-value logistics environments.
