**Consumer Products Licensing Counsel (Contract)** **Location:** Hybrid – Los Angeles, CA **Hours:** 40 hours per week **Benefits** : Health, Dental, Vision, 401k **Duration:** 7 months (Starting in May) **Compensation:** $97–$115/hour **Overview** A leading global entertainment and media company is seeking an experienced attorney to support its Consumer Products licensing team. This role will focus on drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of licensing and intellectual property agreements related to consumer products and merchandising. The attorney will collaborate closely with internal licensing attorneys, business teams, and contract administration stakeholders to support merchandise licensing, rights management, and related commercial transactions. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide legal advice and guidance related to consumer products licensing agreements and related matters. Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including: * Merchandise license agreements and amendments * Promotional agreements * Service and vendor agreements * Non\-disclosure agreements * Partner closely with internal licensing attorneys, paralegals, and business teams across North America and global commercialization groups. Provide legal support for merchandise and publishing rights clearances and management, including: * Researching and analyzing production agreements, acquisition agreements, talent agreements, chain\-of\-title documentation, and other rights\-related contracts * Summarizing relevant rights and obligations for internal stakeholders * Draft merchandise rights memoranda and related summaries. * Support additional projects and licensing matters as needed. **Qualifications** * Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent from an accredited law school * Active membership in the California State Bar * At least **5 years of legal experience** , either in a law firm advising corporate clients or within an in\-house legal department * Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills * Significant experience drafting and negotiating **intellectual property\-related agreements** , particularly licensing agreements * Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple high\-priority projects in a fast\-paced environment * Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross\-functional teams * Strong interpersonal skills and a practical, solution\-oriented mindset * Experience with **talent, production, and rights\-related legal matters** **Preferred Qualifications** * Prior experience supporting clients in the **consumer products, entertainment, or media industries**
