POSITION TITLE Assistant Professor – Financial Mathematics ORGANISATION A leading empowered autonomous college affiliated to the University of Mumbai POSITION TYPE Permanent \| Full Time LOCATION Mumbai, Maharashtra, India COMPENSATION As per the 7th Pay Commission (Government of Maharashtra norms) ──────────────────────────────────── ABOUT THE ROLE ──────────────────────────────────── We are seeking a qualified and committed academic professional to join our faculty as Assistant Professor in Financial Mathematics. The incumbent will teach two mathematically intensive core papers in a specialised undergraduate programme in finance and actuarial science, and is expected to bring both conceptual rigour and clarity of instruction to the classroom. ──────────────────────────────────── SYLLABUS COVERAGE ──────────────────────────────────── Key topics include: • Time value of money, simple and compound interest, and the force of interest • Nominal and effective interest rates, discounting, and present and future value calculations • Valuation of cash flows under constant, variable, and time\-dependent interest rates • Annuities, deferred annuities, perpetuities, and variable annuity structures • Equation of value, loan amortisation, and structured repayment analysis • Project appraisal using NPV, IRR, and discounted payback period • Valuation of fixed income securities, equities, and inflation\-linked instruments • Term structure of interest rates, spot rates, and forward rates • Interest rate risk management through duration, convexity, and immunisation ──────────────────────────────────── KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ──────────────────────────────────── • Deliver lectures and conduct practical sessions across assigned papers • Design and evaluate assessments in line with the university examination framework • Guide and mentor students pursuing professional actuarial and finance qualifications • Participate in curriculum review, departmental activities, and academic administration • Contribute to the research culture of the department ──────────────────────────────────── ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ──────────────────────────────────── Essential • Postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics with a strong quantitative foundation • NET or SET qualified as per UGC regulations Preferred • PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline • Progress in actuarial examinations (IFoA or IAI) or CFA qualification • Prior teaching or industry experience in financial mathematics, actuarial science, or quantitative finance ──────────────────────────────────── HOW TO APPLY ──────────────────────────────────── Interested candidates may apply through LinkedIn Jobs or submit their CV and a brief cover letter to ravivyas1993@gmail.com with the subject line: Application — Assistant Professor, Financial Mathematics.
