Assistant General Manager

Viamede Resort, on beautiful Stoney lake, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help with all elements of resort operations. Viamede's seasonality means that many skills will be needed \- during the busy summer season, working alongside often young, less\-experienced staff to help them succeed. During the spring and fall, corporate events and weddings take up most of our time, so staying ahead on planning while helping to set up buffets or working with the convener on their impromptu team building session will be the focus. And during the slower winter, helping with painting or other maintenance projects will be crucial. This is a hands\-on position with a focus on making the customer's experience the best possible. This includes: * Answering phones and helping out at the Front Desk * Helping in the restaurants during a busy lunch rush * Working in housekeeping as needed, during busy flip days or inspecting rooms before guests arrive * Working with the Events Manager to coordinate details and running weddings and corporate events * Rescuing a guest from a flipped canoe in the lake, walking Cricket the resort dog, and every other possible task around the resort. Our ideal candidate would have experience at a seasonal resort (3\+ years), leadership experience (3\+ years), and restaurant experience, to ensure that they understand the complexity of resort operations. $60\-65 000 per year, plus benefits
