**Job Title: Accounting Manager** **$110,000 \- $125,000 Plus Bonus** **Summary** Westland Technologies Inc. is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting functions and support financial operations for our growing organization. Westland designs and manufactures cost\-effective composite solutions for military and industrial applications. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will manage day\-to\-day accounting operations, supervise accounting staff, and lead the monthly close process. This role ensures accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable government contracting regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced manufacturing environment. **Key Responsibilities** * Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting * Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness * Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback * Prepare and review financial reports and analysis to support management decision\-making * Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance * Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and DFARS requirements where applicable * Support government contract accounting requirements, including documentation of allowable and unallowable costs and audit readiness * Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management * Oversee payroll\-related accounting and reconciliation between payroll and ERP systems * Manage fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation * Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and adherence to inventory control procedures * Coordinate external audits and provide supporting documentation as needed * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency **Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required * CPA preferred; MBA a plus * Minimum 7\+ years of progressive accounting experience * Prior experience supervising or managing accounting staff * Experience managing or leading the month\-end close process * Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred * Experience with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks preferred * Familiarity with FAR/DFARS and government contract accounting preferred * Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls * Experience with ERP/MRP systems * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills * Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks. * Constantly communicating with others to exchange information. * Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. **WORK ENVIRONMENT**: Majority of work is performed in a typical office environment with no major sources of discomfort. Essentially a normal controlled working environment with noise levels within acceptable safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions. **WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE**: To conform to U.S. Government export control regulations and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information restrictions, applicant must be a U.S citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3\), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
