Agay Barho is seeking a skilled and detail\-oriented Accountant with at least four years of experience to join our team in Rawalpindi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing comprehensive financial operations, focusing on bookkeeping, VAT, CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), and UK tax regulations. This role involves working closely with construction and charity sector clients to ensure accurate financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal professional demonstrates exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple client accounts while maintaining meticulous financial records.
This position requires a proactive and reliable individual familiar with charity accounting alongside core accounting duties. The Accountant will not manage a team but will play a vital role in supporting business growth through effective financial reporting, tax compliance, and client communication. The role demands proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero and the capacity to navigate HMRC procedures smoothly while delivering timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
**Responsibilities**
* Maintain precise bookkeeping records covering sales, purchases, bank reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure up\-to\-date and accurate financial data.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns following HMRC guidelines, ensuring full compliance and timely submissions.
* Administer and manage Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes, including timely submissions and record maintenance.
* Develop monthly management accounts and assist in preparing year\-end financial statements for audit and review purposes.
* Handle correspondence with HMRC efficiently, resolving any queries or issues promptly to maintain smooth regulatory relationships.
* Maintain and reconcile Director Loan Accounts (DLA) accurately, reflecting current financial status and transactions.
* Support overall tax compliance activities, including preparation and submission of Corporation Tax and Self\-Assessment tax returns.
* Maintain financial records for charity organizations aligned with UK regulations and ensure adherence to the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
* Prepare and present charity accounts and financial reports in line with Charity Commission guidelines and requirements.
* Assist in compiling financial reports for trustees and other regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Manage multiple clients effectively, prioritizing deadlines and delivering high\-quality accounting services.
* Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero proficiently to streamline financial processes and reporting.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and HMRC, providing necessary information and resolving issues as needed.
* Apply strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accuracy and efficiency in all financial tasks.
* Stay updated on changes in UK tax laws, VAT regulations, and charity accounting practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
