Accountant

Our client, a global manufacturing company, is looking to hire an experienced Accountant. In this position you will be responsible for processing and reconciliation of day\-to\-day accounting transactions, as well as supporting month end and year end actives. **Responsibilities:** * Post, review, and reconcile day\-to\-day accounting transactions for Wholesale and Retail Finance Operations * Process and update records for manual cheques, lien payouts, and finance charge backs * Process daily wires, EFT and credit card payments * Process write\-offs to Retail Finance Customer accounts * Perform bank reconciliations and associated journal entries * Process bank loan interest calculations and post to G/L * Prepare and maintain up to date bank loan register * Support Wholesale Finance with AR clearing maintenance * Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reporting packages * Investigate, reconcile, analyze and provide variance explanations to the Controller * Monthly journal entries and reporting * Other support as required by Finance Team **Experience / Skills Required** * Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting and/or finance * 3\+ years accounting experience in a company with a captive finance model * CPA certificate would be an asset * Proficiency with financial **accounting in an SAP environment would be an asset** * Attention to detail, with strong analytic and problem\-solving skills * General knowledge of income tax law, sales tax and tax preparation * Willing and able to work in a hybrid setting – must be in the office 3 days / week
