Accountant - Entry Level

We are looking for a detail\-oriented Entry Level Accountant to join our team on a long\-term contract basis. Based in New York, New York, this hybrid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands\-on experience in project accounting while contributing to the financial success of ongoing initiatives. Responsibilities: • Review and interpret contracts to ensure accurate financial setup and compliance. • Assist in preparing pricing models, cost proposals, and validating profit margins. • Set up projects in Oracle and input budgets along with rate structures. • Monitor and update project budgets throughout their lifecycle to ensure alignment with financial goals. • Track costs, revenue, subcontractor values, and purchase orders for comprehensive financial oversight. • Evaluate invoices from subcontractors and ensure proper documentation and accuracy. • Generate reports on labor costs, trends, and overall project financial health. • Collaborate with project managers to provide accurate forecasts and financial updates. • Work closely with departments such as Legal, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Billing, and Operations. • Support financial closeouts by reconciling budgets, final costs, and ensuring compliance with financial controls. • Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures. • Experience with bank reconciliations and account reconciliation tasks. • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) workflows and accounting entries. • Understanding of project accounting principles and cost tracking. • Ability to manage approved invoices and maintain accuracy. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. • Proficiency in financial software, such as Oracle, is highly desirable. • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
