Job Description
The **Town of Grimsby** is looking for a detail\-oriented **Accountant** who is passionate about financial accuracy, reporting, and supporting strong municipal decision\-making. In this role, you will support the Town’s **financial operations, reporting, and budgeting processes** , ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely insights that guide organizational performance. Working with the Finance team, you will contribute to reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting that supports both day\-to\-day operations and long\-term planning. What You’ll Do * Perform monthly, quarterly, and year\-end accounting processes and reconciliations * Prepare journal entries, financial reports, and supporting schedules * Support budgeting, financial analysis, and audit processes * Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial transactions * Assist with government reporting and compliance requirements * Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems What You Bring * Post\-secondary degree in **Accounting, Business, or a related field** * **CPA designation in progress** * Minimum **3 years of experience** in accounting, financial reporting, or budgeting * Knowledge of **municipal finance, PSAS, and relevant legislation** * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and collaboration skills Join a team committed to **financial excellence, continuous improvement, and supporting a thriving community.**
