**About Ciner Glass**

We work to supply high\-quality sustainable container glass to global food and drink producers through our industry\-leading centre of engineering excellence in glass technology situated across global markets.
**Role Purpose:**
The Accountant will support the delivery of accurate and timely accounting activities for the UK entities, including bookkeeping, group reporting, and reconciliations. This is a six month fixed term contract, with the possibility of further extension of three to six months. This role is reporting to Financial Controller and requires working from office three days per week.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Support the Financial Controller in bookkeeping, accounting processes, group reporting and related clerical tasks for the UK entities of the group.
* Enter financial information into relevant ledgers, accounting, and treasury systems.
* Maintain the integrity of financial data by ensuring accurate and timely entries and transaction processing.
* Participate in the month\-end closing process, including transaction processing, manual journals, accruals, etc.
* Compile monthly VAT data.
* Perform regular accounting reconciliations, including debtor/creditor, intra\-group, bank and credit card reconciliations. Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
* Address relevant accounting and financial inquiries.
* Assist with preparing financial statements.
* Assist with external audit processes.
* Collaborate with tax advisors for corporation tax return queries and filings.
* Maintain accurate filing and other clerical duties.
* Respond to relevant and reasonable ad hoc requests as needed.
**Essential Qualifications and Competencies:**
* A completed education at the bachelor's or master's level in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Part\-qualified or completed a UK\-recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) would be a bonus.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
* Familiarity with UK tax filing and reporting requirements, particularly for VAT and corporation tax.
* Familiarity with external audit process and expectations from the in\-house accounting team.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
