Accountant

Change Accountancy and Finance are supporting our boutique client as they look to hire an accountant for a period of 6 months. Based in the Edinburgh office, the role will be looking after a range of entities with duties covering month end close and business reporting for your areas. Balancing insight and analysis with ensuring financial controls are in place, the post will look for an individual to get up to speed quickly and provide wider support to the business. Applicants will either have experience in a professional services firm, preparing and producing month end financial statements and management accounts or have transitioned to a role in industry where they have been part of the month end process. Due to the size of the business, the role will cover elements of general ledger processing, as well as month end and value add activities, responsibilities will include; * Lead on month end reporting for your entities with management accounts and balance sheet review * Preparing quarterly financial statements * Creating commentary and analysis for key movements and metrics * Responsible for processing general ledger postings and adjustments * Reconciliation of key control accounts, ensuring accuracy of movements * Working with 3rd parties to review information provided and feeding back with adjustments as necessary * Confident working with excel and other accounting packages The role will offer excellent visibility and a range of duties for someone who is comfortable balancing month end and day to day accounting duties. A willingness to be hands on and ask questions is essential, coupled with a proactivity in your engagement. The role will be on an initial 6 month contract with scope to be extended Salary: £280 \- £350p/d Hybrid Pattern: 4 days in office with flexible working Location: Edinburgh City Centre
